-      Chestnut Makes it Five in a Row in Front of Record Bark River Crowd

Glenview, IL ( August 18, 2011) - The annual August stop of the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL in Bark River, Michigan proved to be one of the biggest and wildest events of the year. The Bark River Lions Club put all their efforts and energies into this one event and the result was more campers, more spectators, and somehow, more action on the race track..

Once again Bark River opened up the track on Friday afternoon for a practice session for all the competitors. There were only slight changes to the track from last year, but now all the Sportsman classes would be using the two wide rolling start.

As mentioned the racing was incredible. Here’s a quick recap.

Bob Gremler took his first career win in Super Truck on Saturday in a great battle with Dan Baudoux.

Scott Beauchamp won his third Super Stock Truck race in a row. Jerry Conrad landed on the podium both days for the first time in his Super Stock career. Sunday’s race came with its share of controversy. There was some serious contact as the top finishers came to the checkered flag and it took race officials about fifteen minutes to sort everything out before the podium celebration could begin.

Matt Ives dominated Stock Truck win back to back wins, as Wayne Schunk had runner-up finishes both days as well.

CJ Greaves won twice on Saturday (Round 1 make-up and Round 7) in Super Buggy as John Frana dominated Sunday in his AWD creation.

Perennial favorites Mark Steinhardt and Brad Erickson each had a win in Single Buggy as second year driver Dillion Reimer took his first podium of his career on Sunday.

Single Buggy saw wins by Matt Gerald and Jamie Kleikamp. Sunday’s race came also had some last corner contact that excited both the drivers involved and the huge Bark River crowd.

Classix saw Dale Chestnut make it five wins in a row thanks to his strong drives in Bark River. Sunday saw Scott Mueller drove his best race of the year with a solid second place finish.

Formula 4x4 had Bradley LeMarche take the win on Saturday as Dave Miah led the field to victory on Sunday. Charlie Bell had a solid weekend with two second place finishes as well.
