Indianapolis, IN (March 12, 2010)--The United States Auto
Club (USAC Racing), in conjunction with its corporate partners,
announced today the reorganization of The TRAXXAS Off Road
Championship Series presented by AMSOIL.
In its inaugural 2009 season, USAC Racing managed racing
operations and officiating of the TORC series. For 2010, USAC will
expand responsibilities to oversee all management of the off road
series. USAC's mission is to ensure a smooth transition and
continue to provide premier short course off road racing for
competitors and fans alike.
"Ricky Johnson's vision, along with Mitch Covington's passion,
built a successful off road program with great venues such as
Crandon's Big House, outstanding competition, and incredible media
coverage in just a few short months last year," stated Kevin
Miller, CEO of USAC Racing.
The year 2010 offers a significant opportunity to promote the
sport and continue the success and tradition that has been part of
Off Road Racing for over 41 years. The new Traxxas Off Road
Championship Series presented by AMSOIL will feature many new
venues for the drivers, sponsors and most importantly the fans.
Drivers will enjoy lower fees, bigger purses and new venues to
showcase their talent. Participating tracks are gearing up to host
the new series which will also feature a soon to be released
"Triple Crown Event."
Series sponsors include TRAXXAS, AMSOIL, Monster Energy, Kuhmo
Tires, KMC Wheels, Oakley, Ford Trucks, BF Goodrich Tires and
Maxxis Tires. Additional series sponsors and major announcements,
including finalized race and television packages, are expected as
the series kicks-off the 2010 season May 1-2 at USA Raceway in
Tucson, Arizona.
The long term success and history of USAC will provide for a
winning series as USAC is the most diverse motorsports
organization in the country today.
Sanctioning includes Silver Crown, Sprint Cars, Midget Racing, .25
Midgets, Bonneville Salt Flat Land Speed records, and Off Road
racing. USAC has partnerships with the Pikes Peak International
Hill Climb and the Fireball Run Adventure Rally.
