"88 Miles from Heaven on Dirt" Off-Road Seminar & Swap Meet a
Success!!
Abrams, WI (April 27, 2010) -The second annual of the off-road seminar
has quickly become a must attend in the Upper Midwest. For 2010, MORR
oversaw the event with Board Director, Don Demeny as the project
manager. The event saw a record number of vendors and attendees,
spending the day at Kip and Donna's Fly Way Restaurant and Banquet Hall
in downtown Abrams, Wisconsin.
The seminar portion of the event had Aaron from Safety Solutions, and
Chris from Innovative Safety Solutions give informative presentations on
motorsports safety, and Jeff from Attitude Motorsports spent time
informing the crowd about motorsports marketing.
Inside the banquet hall vendors from AMSOIL, Miller Electric, Coleman
Race Products, Phil's Inc, MT Graphics, McKenzies Midwest, Ross Hoek
Motorsports, Crystal Valley Marketing, Racing Electronic, Safety
Solutions, Innovative Safety Products, Skalitzky Race Designs and
Composite Envisions.
Outside the swap meet filled up the majority of the parking lot as
enthusiast's unloaded trailers and trucks full of all types of
automotive and racing related parts.
MORR also used the event to bring everyone up to date on this season's
upcoming events.
Here are some of the highlights:
Antigo Event
Ronn Krueger, the promoter of the Antigo event, stepped up to the
microphone and announced the Chippewa Sokaogon Community and the Mole
Lake Casino are sponsors of the event. Ronn also announced that there
will be no charge for the camping/pit spot for the driver. (All others
will be charged a camping fee.) The driver and crew chief of each race
entry also will not be charged an admission fee.
MORR president, Dan Vanden Heuvel spoke about the importance of everyone
policing their camp and pit spots during the weekend as well as
volunteering for whatever is needed during the Antigo event. MORR needs
to leave the fairgrounds as clean as it was when our event crew arrived.
Crandon MORR Test Day
The upcoming Crandon MORR Sportsman Test Day is May 17 and the fee for
the day is $50. Again MORR needs volunteers to assist with the day's
activities. Track workers, including flaggers and tow vehicles will be
needed to make this day a success.
Later this week, online registration will be available on the website,

.
Oshkosh Event
The Oshkosh night time event on July 23-24 was originally a Sportsman
only event with MORR overseeing the event. Recently MORR was able to
partner with a Fox Valley area promoter to ensure that Round 5 & 6 will
be the biggest off-road event the area has ever seen.
Within the last two weeks, TORC approached MORR to include the PRO
racers. After some negotiations, MORR, the event promoter, and TORC have
agreed to work together to create an awesome event, Sportsman and PRO,
for Fox Valley off-road enthusiasts.
Limited 2
In an effort to increase the number of entries in this class, TORC/USAC
will allow older PRO-2 trucks to compete in this class with the use of
the specified restrictor plate. This is designed to allow only sportsman
drivers with access to PRO trucks/engines, not for current PRO-2 racers
to move down and compete.

Volunteering
A signup sheet for volunteering for the upcoming MORR events will also
be posted online.
MORR Sportsman Contingency
As of 4/24/2010, MORR has contingency offerings in excess of $270,000 in
cash and product.
During the day, Chuck from Crystal Valley Marketing held a raffle
offering one free entry to the MORR Sportsman Test Day, and the winner
was Mike Vanden Heuvel.
As the afternoon moved into the evening all the vendors packed up their
wares and deemed the second annual "88 Miles from Heaven on Dirt"
Off-Road Seminar and Swap Meet a success. In fact, MORR is already in
the early planning stages for the 2011 event.
Next MORR event is the Crandon Sportsman Test Day on May 17, 2010.
