Membership Update
As 02/02/2010 Midwest Off-Road Racing has 77 paid memberships. It is a great start, but MORR needs the support of all the Midwest Sportsman racers for our group to be successful.
Membership money is designed to pay the overhead
costs to keep the group running.

The initial membership drive was enough to cover MORR’s attorney fees, and loans associated with the start-up costs of the group.

Remember to be eligible for any and all contingency awards and additional payouts that came from MORR’s efforts, the driver of record must be:
·         A paid member of MORR before that entry’s first race of the 2010 season.
·         The yellow MORR decal must be displayed prominently on both sides of the race vehicle before the start of the entrant’s first race of the year.
·         All paper work, including contingency form, must be properly filled out and turned into MORR before the entrant’s first race of the year.

Race Updates
After listening to comments made on a couple of off-road forums, as well as calls, and emails made to the MORR Board, the MORR group understood that the majority of the Sportsman racers did not want to go to the two moto per day race format.

MORR president Dan Vanden Heuvel brought this to the attention of TORC officials Terry Severson and Ricky Johnson, and everyone agreed to keep the racing program the same as it was in the past, one race each day during the two day weekend. MORR went to bat for the Sportsman racer, and TORC agreed.
The power of communication.

(The dual moto concept was brought up to increase track time without increasing the entry fee for the racers. MORR is still working on that point. Stay tuned for future developments.)

Event Updates
The Antigo race promoter has offered all MORR racers no gate fee for the Driver of Record and one crew member. That’s a $60 savings per team. When 100 racers come to compete at the Langlade County Fairgrounds, thanks to MORR’s negotiations, $6000 will be saved by all the racers.

Race Support
Currently almost $220,000 in contingency offerings have been submitted to MORR for the Sportsman racer in the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL.

One of the coolest offers is from Canidae All Natural Pet Food. The company is awarding first and second place finishers, cash, just for displaying their decal on both sides your race vehicle. Third place also receives a free bag of dog food. If all the podium finishers for the season are paid MORR members, nearly $20,000 in cash and product is guaranteed to be given out.
