  • TORC PRO-SPORTSMAN Doubleheader at Oshkosh Will Sparkle Under the Lights July 23-24

  • Indianapolis, IN (April 16, 2010)--The TRAXXAS Off-Road Championshiop, presented by AMSOIL, announced today the addition of the PRO Off-Road Classes to the race ticket alongside the Sportsman Classes at the Oshkosh Speedzone July 23 and 24. The Traxxas Off-Road Championship offers spectacular competition in a crowd-pleasing format and this event on a track design fueled by technical advancement is expected to be explosive in its ability to energize race fans in the Fox Valley of Wisconsin.

    Leading up to the world-famous Oshkosh AirVenture, the world’s greatest aviation celebration planned for July 26-August 1, the Fox Valley’s premer dirt track will host off-road racing for the third straight year after a 12-year hiatus. Home to a majority of TORC Series Sportsman teams, Fox Valley is also home to the “Flying Dutchman” Vanden Heuvel Team, which is instrumental in this event’s organization and is celebrating 32 years in the sport of off-road racing.

    "We received a great response after the last two seasons from fans wanting more TORC Off-Road," says Dennis Payne, marketing director for Oshkosh Speedzone. "We are happy to oblige."

    The TRAXXAS Off-Road Championship Schedule For 2010 is focused on proven, spectator attended race venues to complement an innovative television programming approach. The Series will offer a twelve race schedule in 2010, spanning over six race weekends.

    The Oshkosh Speedzone hosts a permanent R/C short-course track with 500 feet of newly rebuilt banks, turns and jumps for all levels of R/C competition. Competition July 23 and 24 will include the following classes: PRO 4x4, PRO 2WD, PRO LIGHT, Limited 4WD & 2WD Trucks, Super Stock Truck. Super Buggy, 1600 Buggy, 1600 Light Buggy, Classix, Enduro and Formula 4x4.
