RULE UPDATES for 2010
Formula 4x4 and Classix: These classes will be
combined into one class, Classix 2WD/4WD. If the car
count would increase there would be a possibility of
splitting the class in 2011. In the interest of
competition, rules may be changed at any time. Going into
the future it is very important to cosmetically clean up
some of these vehicles.
Enduro Truck: Cross over exhaust is not allowed.
All trucks must use dual pipes with a 1 1/2 X 24 inch
restrictor pipe. Exhaust must be welded together and well
mounted to chassis. If the restrictor pipe is lost during
competition penalties may be imposed. Aftermarket headers
are not allowed. Anti-wrap up bars are not allowed.
1600 Buggy: With the single port engine a
carburetor spacer (carb. to intake) of no more than 3/8
inch will be allowed.
Stock Truck: Any OEM steering box is allowed as
long as the pitman arm location does not change
significantly. The 15 year rule will no longer apply. OEM
cab floor and firewall must match frame and be mounted in
the stock location. Only very limited trimming of material
will be allowed. The remainder of the OEM cab is not
required. Updating of the body is allowed as long as the
stock body lines are kept and it is done in a professional
way. All trucks must have a radio and a spotter.
Limited 2WD: This class will continue in 2010 with
no rule changes. All cars must have a radio and a spotter.
Limited 4x4 (Ultra 4x4): This will be a separate class
in 2010. They will use the 2009 rules but now can use the
Limited 2WD engine package and must be 10 pounds per cubic
inch minimum. PRO 4WD trucks will be allowed to
participate in this class. These trucks must use an open
front diff. and be 10.5 pounds per cubic inch. They must
also use the Limited 2WD engine package with an automatic
transmission and DOT tires. Race numbers will be 400-499
series. In the interest of competition rules may be
changed at any time. It is planned that this class will
run at the same time as Limited 2WD. Car counts in 2010
will impact the future of this class. All trucks must have
a radio and spotter.
PRO Super Buggy: Starting grids will use a 12 car
inversion. All cars must have a radio and a spotter. No
other rule changes for 2010.
General rule updates for all Sportsman classes: The
competition yellow will be used with points awarded, two
for first and one for second. ALL classes must have looped
bumpers, body mounts and side bars. Only SFI 45.1 roll bar
padding will be allowed. Mud flaps are required on all
truck classes including Classix. They must be at least as
wide as the tire, touch the ground and be made of semi
ridged plastic, not rubber. The maximum exhaust decibel
reading of 100 (50 feet from trackside) will be strictly
enforced in all classes. Brake lights will no longer be
required. Windshield screens will be required in all
classes. The exact size and design is yet to be
determined.
